It’s been a week mostly free of power cuts, but Eskom says the grid remains severely constrained after five units failed at various power stations. Eskom management is set to brief us on the state of the grid.

Eskom is expected to provide an update on the state of the current power system in about an hour's time. The ailing power utility has warned South Africans the system is under severe strain. That's because it's lost five generating units.
