Cape Town - The Zondo commission will hear from Group Executive of Legal Risk and Compliance at Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa Martha Ngoye as she continues her testimony on Tuesday morning.
Ngoye revealed on Monday the legal woes that Prasa faced and claimed she did not have access to documents and was not involved in the drafting of certain contracts. She also said the agency’s former CEO Lucky Montana dismissed her from her position without giving any reasons. Ngoye, who has been head of the department since 2014, was the fourth official from the rail agency to testify about Prasa.
On Friday the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into allegations of state capture, corruption and fraud in the Public Sector including Organs of State heard that former president Jacob Zuma had pushed hard for the Prasa board to rescind its decision to accept former Prasa CEO Lucky Montana’s resignation.Molefe detailed how there was an attempt by Zuma and former minister in the presidency Jeff Radebe for Montana to be re-hired as the head of Prasa.
