Vavi said the shutdown is a start of the total emancipation of the working class from poverty, inequality and oppression. “We’re not aiming at just having a one-day strike.” He echoed former president Thabo Mbeki and EFF leader Julius Malema’s warnings of a “civil war” if living conditions of South Africans did not improve and their issues were ignored.
this guys are funny........loool R1500
Union failed this country period .They failed to modernize and align with work environment changes.
Vavi is another joke indeed instead of talking about creation of employment he is talking about R1500 pure nonsense
That's over 300% increase. Will settle at 6%. Typical union negotiating tactic.🤣
Asizi, who's gonna pay for that R1500? Definitely not Vavi but the tax payers who hardly get a salary increase. Jobs must be created not grants
🤣🤣
No need to shut the country down. Let the union members fund the increase in grants. They may do what they like with their money.
SA is the only country that gives people money to continue to sit at home. We can’t! Tax is killing the middle class guys! Yoh!

It is to serve their employed members' interests. Unemployed people fall outside their constituency, and unions have no mandate to speak on their behalf. SAFTU_media _cosatu Is the demand possible or Vavi is trying to be relevant.
