Public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane is fighting against her suspension. File photo. It is a source of constant irritation that the taxpayer foots the bill for frivolous legal action taken by government officials.
Cases in point are suspended public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane and former president Jacob Zuma. , Despite repeated judgments against them, they continue to pursue their futile quests at the cost of the taxpayer. My proposal would be for them to personally pay their legal costs until they win their cases and then claim from the state.
Similarly, officials who are put on suspension should get a “subsistence” salary until they are proven innocent. There should be no fuel, vehicle, cellphone, entertainment or other allowances. Should they be found guilty, those “subsistence” costs are deducted from their pension pay-outs. The taxpayer is being fleeced by the callous actions of these accused people and should stop forthwith.

Why is taxpayers monies being used to pay for their legal fees
Enriching Dali 💰💰💰💰...
Pandemic.
It is very easy for a lawyer to continue with the case even if, he/she sees that his/her client has no case, just for the sake of the client to pay him/her. This is questionable especially, when the client doesn't pay out of his/her pocket. This could be a way to get easy money
The question also is whether the lawyers representing them, especially, the public protector who pays her legal fees through the state, are these lawyers not able to distinguish between a winnable case and case they can't win. I am beginning to smell the rat in these matters
Stop deflecting and vilifying Mkhwebane and Pres Zuma. Cyril Ramaphosa is who is wasting taxpayers money and transferring the sovereignty of South Africas health, education and other important policies to UN control PhalaPhalaFarm NationalShutdown
This is more reason to lose faith in our government. We need decisive and true leadership that stops erosion of monies due to the masses of starving and unemployed people. Stuff the fat cats.
Correct
How do you expect them to win cases with corrupt to the core judges,1 of the bad days they (judges) and the so NGO's will be investigated...
