Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has announced the approval of new regulations on school admissions.

Johannesburg - Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has announced the approval of new regulations on school admissions, including newly determined feeder zones changed from a 5km to a 30km radius from the chosen school.

The amended regulations allowed parents to apply to schools within a 30km radius and were no longer limited to 5km. The new regulations would allow children from all backgrounds to apply to whichever school they wanted to learn at despite their financial status and their residential address and parents' work address.

Other key changes in the regulations included that the power of the head of department to administer admissions in the province outlawed all forms of unfair discrimination and enabled the management of admissions in entry phase grades through an online admissions process.

Unless it's a function of wrong prognosis, it Should be ok. Travelling 30 km to school speaks volumes about how much SA has progressed in 25 yrs. Smacks of political opportunism to me.

‘We are disgusted,’ says Lesufi of school where three boys allegedly raped girlThe education department has revealed the alleged crime took place at an orientation camp this weekend. Close these public schools these horrible children don't want to learn Our leaders in government and our parents at home create the environment for this monstrosity to occur As a country we are in serious trouble morally and culturally There is only one place to look for this disgusting behavior. THE PARENTS. No discipline when they are growing up leads to your children being put in jail. At least your children will have board and lodging in a state prison.
