As the country edges closer to the holiday season, the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Ministry of Police led by General Bheki Cele will launch the Nationwide Safer Festive Season Operations in the Western Cape this morning.

Through intensified high density operations under the Operation Shanela umbrella, regular roadblocks, stop and searches and the tracking and tracing of wanted suspects will be a daily occurrence during this year’s safer festive operations.

Following the national lunch, the Safer Festive Season Operations will be rolled-out in each province to ensure residents, holidaymakers and businesses operating in the country are and feel safe during and beyond the festive season.Looking for things to do in the city at half the price?
