The government has stepped in to help a northern KZN woman repatriate the mortal remains of her daughter, who died in the Philippines. ECRNewsWatch KZN

It's after officials received a video of Utrecht resident Lindiwe Myeni making an emotional plea for help to get funds to retrieve her daughters body.

Snegugu, who was a final-year medical student, died at the airport before she could board a flight back to South Africa last week.KZN woman in custody for killing mother with hammer "My child was determined to complete her studies and come back home to serve her community as a neurosurgeon, but death robbed her of that opportunity.

"She promised me the last time she was home that she would be back in August after her graduation work. "We are deeply hurt as a family, we don't know what to piece together so we can bring our daughter home."
