A KwaZulu-Natal farmer is expected to pay a whopping R1.5 million administrative fee after he illegally constructed a dam 'beyond the boundary or limit' so that he would have water for his farming business.

Nigel Pres Blaker, owner of South Downs and Portion 1 Winchester Farm, built the dam without the required water use authorisation.

The farmers provide food for South Africa ! Disgusting that municipality wants to take a fine like this -it is stealing the food off the farmers table and probably will cripple his Business !

³esé

That's not a dam it looks like a standard pot hole to me

The farmer should just buy the land

Well, the government have water cuts (like power cuts). So, have to make your own water source and use it. The government probably wants access to his water source or something 🤷

Tell them to fuck off....arrest them for trespassing. I hate this pathetic useless government with a passion.

They can spend R2 billion in unauthorized spending but want to fine a farmer for unauthorized dam and water usage. Tell them to first payback the R2 billion and leave the farmer alone

'Don't criticise a farmer with food in your mouth' Bumper sticker

If he owned the land and God sent the rain to fill up the dam then phuck the government

Perhaps we allowed to build our own dams ,seeing that Rand Water is playing party politics, and cut off supply by 40% to CoT. It's inhumane that they will do this.
