Thembani Shezi, 26, was one of 42 learners from three prisons in KwaZulu-Natal who wrote their matric exams last year.
He said he had been cast into a life of drugs and violence, which led him to committing a murder in Umlazi, south of Durban, in 2013. He was sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment.
Murderers should be given life sentences, this justice system is weak
For those who are complaining, what must happen to him after he finishes his sentence? Should he wander around aimlessly in the community till he commits other crimes? At least Education will keep him busy
There are many young people who performed very well but a man still under the so called rehabilitation is given attention, why cant you focus on young people outside prison who did very well. The moment you right murderer , the achievement looses the good taste.
A life taker who aspires to be a life saver? This must be an oxymoron of the year!
No
And who will pay for this murderers tuitition to become a medical doctor, whilst he serves his sentence for committing the most henious of crimes? Why is he even given airtime?
Welcome to South Africa where prisoners are more privileged than us. Medical doctor meanwhile he committed crime
There’s no amount of life-saving that’ll bring back the life he’s already taken
Convicted...only on KZN, umuthi ngiyawesaba
How will he b employed when he has a criminal record?
Well the universities will except him, especially Unisa as they give criminals more preference than a clean citizen 😱😱😡😡😡
