The Department of Correctional Services confirmed on Tuesday that former Crime Intelligence boss Richard Mdluli has been placed on parole.

Former Crime Intelligence head Richard Mdluli has been granted parole.

While still serving a prison sentence for kidnapping and assault, he was granted bail in his ongoing corruption case, effectively paving the way for his parole. Because Mdluli committed the crime in 1998, he fell under the"Phaahla judgment" regime - crimes committed before 1 October 2004 - meaning that his eligibility for parole has been determined on a previous parole regime. The Minimum Detention Period for Mdluli ended on 28 May 2022, but he could not be considered for parole at the time due to a pending court case, department spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said.

Mdluli is an accused - along with former supply chain manager Heine Barnard and former chief financial officer Solomon Lazarus - in a corruption, fraud and theft case relating to the alleged looting of a police slush fund between 2008 and 2012 when the three were at the helm of Crime Intelligence.

Clear sign that people with money are favored by our justice system...those with no money their rights are trampled upon by the system as they get long sentences with no parole.

There are people who are in jail for more than 15 who deserves parole but because they are not connected to politicians they will finish their sentences ya this is Africa borwa kannete.

😳

At least …. Our correctional services Centres are full of many Richard Mdluli’s inmates, he served his time, there was no use of being kept inside and use taxpayer’s money daily… he must come out and work for all his earnings

Business Maverick: Developers claim algorithm predicts crime in US cities before it happensSocial scientists at the University of Chicago have developed a tool that uses historical data on violence and property crimes to predict future events. They had this for a while but it was considered racist. They then had to go back to the drawingboard to tweak the algorithm which lead to this, version 2.0. More in tune with political and corporate woke sentiment. Clearly these scientists have not seen minority report.

Israel could not link Bobroff millions to crime in SAThe Israeli’s inability to draw a link is despite the SCA ruling in May 2021 that the money the Israelis froze was the proceeds of crime and must be forfeited to the state. Moneyweb finance The SCA ruling was corrupt and totally disregarded the fact there was not a shred of evidence proving any link. The funds were even deposited in Israel before the so called period of investigation😜😜 I hope the NPA bears the consequences of their fabricated case. Moneyweb employs a sexual predator
