Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye took a swing at Jasond Gonzalez following his uneventful cameo against Pirates.

Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye has criticised the club’s striker Jasond Gonzalez following Amakhosi’s 3-2 defeat to Orland Pirates.

The big Colombian forward was signed this season but failed to make an impact at Chiefs having played nine games.Khanye, vocal about the striker’s lack of technical abilities, said the 24-year-old offered nothing in the derby. “You bring this guy, Gonzalez, I mean this guy my brother…rather bring in Mfundo once than bringing this guy on. This guy is doing nothing, he is lazy, he can’t run, I don’t know his strength or why he was signed,” Khanye told“He can’t protect the ball, he can’t open space to receive the ball…he is too slow, I don’t understand, he is tall.”Khanye said Chiefs failed to contain the Buccaneers due to the lack of quality players.

“Edson Castillo, Yusuf Maart and Mduduzi Mdantsane were off today. Pule Mmodi wanted to play closer to Du Preez as their combination helped them get the two goals. Unfortunately, the team can’t rely solely on two players and their link-up play was not sustainable,” said the ex-Chiefs winger.
