After becoming the first African country to host the FIFA World Cup in 2010, South Africa, through SAFA, have launched a bid to host the next Women's World Cup after the 2023 edition in Australia and New Zealand. Jordaan says the reason they have submitted the bid is to challenge the narrative around women's football being valued much less than the men's game at the highest level, commercially.
