The multi-year initiative will help make the metropole’s parks safer and more environmentally friendly and forms part of a R1 billion green campaign, said the city’s mayoral committee member for community development Ronald Harris.
Harris said the power of ‘greening’ to address environmental and socio-economic challenges and the associated benefits for partners will be explored at the city’s inaugural ‘Action Imbizo’ scheduled for 23 June in Sandton.
