The former president's lawyers say there's no guarantee he will testify or answer questions

25 June 2019 - 05:10Former president Jacob Zuma, who has until now refused to answer specific questions on alleged state capture during his time in office, has agreed to make himself available to the Zondo commission of inquiry.

Zuma said he would"attend" the commission in July even though, in a letter from his lawyer, Daniel Mantsha, he maintained that the commission was biased against him and"lacks the requisite impartiality".

We will just hear more lies

At least he wont be able to do his silly and clownly dances there! Poor man cant speak for himself. Needs an Indian lawyer to lie for him!

Wawujikeleza umzi wenye indoda, yazi uba owakho uwushiya nabani na.

Well he should use the change to prove his innocence! That he claims and his supporters blindly believes! Exactly tge right place to do that!

I doubt. He will profess his innocence and how he is being unfairly treated, and of course busses through the eThekwini mayor will be offered to his supporters.

OPINIONISTA: Money is the unfair advantage in the business of using law to seek justiceLast week a full Bench of the High Court dismissed former president Jacob Zuma’s attempt to appeal their ruling that he was not entitled to receive state funding for his criminal defence. The court ordered Zuma to repay more than R16-million with which taxpayers have funded his attempts to avoid facing trial on corruption charges. When you have R16-million at your disposal, your lawyers can provide you with the kind of muscular legal assistance that ordinary criminal accused persons can only dream of. Money – as is so often the case – makes all the difference.
