Rustenburg - The Inkatha Freedom Party is contesting local government elections in three North West municipalities.
"The IFP is not here to make empty promises, but to offer tangible solutions. The upcoming municipal elections provide an opportunity for you as residents of the North West to bring change," national chairperson Blessed Gwala told the party's supporters in Majemantsho, North West on Friday, while on the campaign trail.
He said little or no meaningful action was taken against officials for non-compliance, fraudulent activity or improper conduct, even when the Auditor General called for action to be taken against transgressors. In the election manifesto, the IFP said instead of making people dependent on social grants that were far from sufficient to provide proper nutrition, the party would support subsistence farmers by providing materials and equipment to promote local economic development.
