President Cyril Ramaphosa repeatedly told parliament on Thursday he believed he was properly reporting the crime when he reported the theft of millions of dollars at his private farm to his head of security.

He was responding to a question from EFF leader Julius Malema who accused him of abusing his power and office by not going to a police station to report the crime, saying as someone who studied law, Ramaphosa knew the procedure to follow in reporting a crime.

I want to dispute the argument that I abused my power. I am not the type of person who would abuse my position or my power. I did not.Ramaphosa was more forthcoming about the Phala Phala matter on Thursday, unlike a month ago when he refused to answer MPs’ questions citing legal advice not to go into detail about the matter.

Earlier, Ramaphosa said police will have to answer questions as to why there was no police case or case number for the crime.

Sometime ago Mbeki was a victim of burglary at his official residence and I didn't see so much interest on how he went about reporting the crime. Obsession is a mental disorder. Relax and chill out people.

This one doesnt respect us!🤣🤣🤣🚮

He is the President after all, should he have went & stood in a queue at the police station to open a case, when he is always surrounded by police? Which president does that? Plus when the crime occurred he was in Addis Ababa. I'm okay with his answer on the reporting of the case.

Real question should be the source of the money stolen....receipt or proof of the business transaction if indeed this money comes from a business transaction.... 🤔 and was the cash declared to Sars?

Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Dictator

Learn the lesson guys: Next time you have a burglary at home go directly to the 'SAPS General' and report to him ... that is the right way to report a 'housebreaking' crime in SA. He will get your case number for you.

Cyril was correct to report to his head of Presidential Protection Unit, if it happens again, he must do exactly what he did then There's absolutely NOTHING WRONG for him to report to his head of Presidential Protection Unit NOTHING WRONG, those guys a full police officers

What he believed then doesn’t matter now. It’s what he knows now & is failing to admit its deviation from what is required, is what matters.

You do to the police station to report a crime wena puppet!

as if we expected differently

😂😂😂😂 Who's fooling who here bloody momish!!!
