The City of Cape Town is hoping to channel some of the 2010 Soccer World Cup gees as it prepares to host the 2023 Netball World Cup. The tournament is set to kick (throw?) off on Friday, 28 July, and will last until Sunday, 6 August.

To help locals get behind our national team, the city will be opening the Fan Park outside the Cape Town International Convention Centre for all fans during the tournament. The Fan Park will officially open on 28 July with a five-hour concert event.

Spectators can look forward to watching games on a big screen, seeing the Sporting Chance Street Netball Challenge finals and netball exhibition matches. There’s also a kids area with games such as Jenga, jumping castle, face painting, and giant chess. Entry to the Fan Park will be free, and there will be plenty of food and drink available to make it an experience well worth your time.
