Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has approved a temporary extension of operating times at front offices to address the increased demand for smart ID cards and passport services:

The extension, which adds two hours to the operating times, will be implemented in 198 modernised Live Capture offices capable of processing these documents.

‘The department usually receives a higher volume of applications during school holidays.
