Hitting the ground running: Pitso Mosimane to conduct first Al Ahly training just hours after arrival in Egypt

The 56-year-old arrived to a warm reception from a sizeable group comprising Al Ahly officials and the club’s fans at Cairo International Airport in Egypt around 8am on Friday morning.

“Arriving with a dream ... Arriving with ambition,” the club Tweeted on Friday, with this post accompanied by the images of Mosimane and his two-man contingent. The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach took to Egypt his specialist coaches, fitness trainer Kabelo Rangoaga and performance analyst Musi Matlaba.City Press contacts in Egypt said the trio were due to meet the president of Al Ahly Mahmoud El Khatib and the players at 3pm, then conduct their first official training session two hours later.I know your passion for the club and I am sure you’ll support me to achieve our dreams together. You are the shield and the sword. I am counting on you.

In a video circulated by Al Ahly leading to Mosimane’ arrival in Cairo, “Jingles” said he was looking forward to meeting the club’s fans, who he said earned his respect during the two clubs’ previous clashes in the CAF Champions League. He also pleaded for “space and time” to help maintain Al Ahly’s status as the top ranked cub in the continent.
