The party suggested that the proposed quota would be 80:20 with businesses obligated to ensure that at least 80% of those employed by them are South Africans.

“I would argue very strongly that this is not xenophobic but I would say that our proposal would actually solve the xenophobic attacks.

IFP chief whip Narend Singh added: “We know that there has been a lot of tension between those that come to our country here and take jobs of local people. “Whilst we welcome anybody to our country, this is something that we want to encourage — skilled people must come into the country but we cannot find that in a restaurant set-up, a hotel set-up or in the truck driving arena, you find that most people who are employed are people from outside SA.

“If we are going to exacerbate unemployment of South Africans by employing people from outside the country to do tasks that we could perform then I think we are going on a dangerous path,” he said. The IFP caucus also decided he country needed an integrity commission, which would be established as a Chapter Nine institution. It will table another private member's bill proposing the establishment of such a commission.

Hire South Africans first — IFP to employersThe Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) is planning to introduce a new bill proposing the rationing of jobs where businesses will be forced to prioritise South Africans over foreign nationals. Sometimes the south african's has to much pride in doing more than what's being required to do, extra hours. They want more money and if they don't get it, they want to strike and run to the unions, CCMA. I have analyzed the foreigners they will work for less, more hours Foreign nationals have gained more employment than south africans'some employees have shown this govt mid-finger by employing undocumented foreigners &some political parties are glorifyin them !!!!! A lot of contradictions in this country, we do not know really what it really want.

Youth unemployment: Corporate South Africa must be held to accountOpinion | The youth have shown that they are willing and able to work. Why then is the unemployment rate so high for this demographic? And how much can we blame Corporate South Africa? Ah, yes. It's all 'corporate South Africa's' fault. City Press really needs to learn to distinguish between news and advertorials posing as insight. Well this Peter guy has no idea what he is talking about and should stop writing this garbage. We all know growth is being haltered by ANC communist policies. Very simplistic answer to a complex problem. His analysis should include science and maths factor. For instance this year matric results are exceptionally well save to say maths & science results are disastrous. Who to blame? Corporate I guess.

Why South Africa's declining maths performance is a worryThe national euphoria around the national pass rate means nothing if it hides problems such as declining mathematics performance. I dropped maths was useless but still achieved going into It...... Maths a joke.... do BE What a joke .... even the picture’s math example is wrong. This happens when you think of new ways to teach maths. The way my child had to do basic sums was shocking. I thought her the way we did sums in 1980 and guess what she got 87%, only marked down for wrong method! idiots We do not have proper math teachers and most are not trained enough
