Seasoned broadcaster Thabo 'T'BoTouch' Molefe hosted the show and took the stage to an already electrified audience. One thing I appreciated about Saturday night's audience was the free spirit they carried throughout the night.
Though it was meant to be a celebration of the legends and the kwaito genre, a few artists were merged into the line-up who have that new age kwaito genre on lock. The likes of Tdk Macassette, Nobantu vilakazi, Xigubu, Bizizi performed in the segment called Young Women in Song. Kabelo “Bugalove” Mabalane kicked off the kwaito side of the performances and he reminded us why we gave him names like 'Mr Booger two shoes', and he brought the house down — just one man with no backup dancers. He performed some songs as an ode to the late Tokollo 'Magesh' Tshabalala who died on August 15.
