It’s no secret that everything has been going up in price since the pandemic began now coupled with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine which resulted in global inflationary pressures, South Africans are feeling the worst pinch in their pockets.reported on factors that are going to influence the price hikes in Mzansi. They stated that the escalation of inflation risk and unfavourable international market developments are some of the factors that have seriously impacted food inflation.

Just as consumers are trying to cope with increasing food prices that have caused a huge financial dent on many South African households, Indonesia banned the export of palm oil which is used in food production as reported by. This has resulted in consumers paying even higher prices for their groceries while some retailers have not increased their prices but started to limit certain grocery items.

One of those items is Sunflower cooking oil, Woolworths is currently limiting it’s customers to a maximum of per customer and their online store has run out of their 2litre Sunflower cooking oil which was priced at R99 with a limit of 1 2litre per customer.
