Hanging Judge: The league’s rules are designed to protect players and refs alike

Well, officially, they are covered under Law 5 of the Fifa laws of the game that says:

There have been cases where referees have been disciplined, suspended and even banned for a period of time – or even life. This happened in Birmingham in the English midlands, where the rule is that you must report cautions and red cards to the league and the Football Association.In his own defence, he said it was “because I work 60 hours a week, so I literally forgot to do it”.Now you can make of that whatever you like and it will be sad to see him leave, but the rules of the league are designed to protect everyone, and failing to report cautions and red cards is a serious offence.
