With election campaigning in full swing, the GOOD Party has launched its election manifesto.

JOHANNESBURG - The GOOD Party is calling for structural changes in government, which it says will help re-balance society.

The party launched its manifesto in Sandton in Johannesburg on Saturday, outlining its plans for the country should it be elected into power in the upcoming elections. Speaking at the launch, party leader Patricia De Lille said the country's policies were modelled on systems borrowed from other countries, which does not work for South Africa.

De Lille said there was a need to address the country's poverty levels, which can be done through the implementation of the basic income grant. "A good government will implement a basic income grant of a minimum of R999 per month. We can afford a basic income grant through cutting out corruption and some tax reform."
