A German coffee consortium has acquired a majority shareholding in South Africa's Caturra - a roastery established in 1994.

Caturra roastery, based in Cape Town, hasCaturra Africa has decades of experience as master roasters, while also selling machines and non-coffee products to retail and hospitality channels.won multiple gold star awardsFollowing on from significant success in Southern Africa, Caturra has a full export department that has seen their coffee travel deeper into Africa and abroad.

“We are convinced that we can make excellent use of the Melitta’s extensive expertise for the growth and expansion of Caturra – and that we can also open up numerous new sales opportunities on the African continent for the Melitta Group’s business units.”According to the International Coffee Organization , about three billion cups of coffee are consumed globally every day.
