The sports issues that took centre stage during the short off-season have provided much food for thought on challenges facing rugby.
The word “exactly” came to mind when I saw the following words on a poster at a recent Premier League soccer game in England: “Killing the passion, Killing the atmosphere, Killing the game, End VAR now.” Replace VAR with TMO and that could easily have summed up the feeling of a modern rugby crowd.
