As part of its 155th anniversary celebration, the Leliebloem House Child and Youth Care Centre in Crawford hopes to raise funds to aid the home’s ongoing efforts to provide care for children.reports that the home runs at a loss of R300 000 per month due to an increase in costs of food, transport and municipal accounts. To alleviate this shortfall, the institution has been chosen as a beneficiary by R. Miller Attorneys for its upcoming black tie Youth Day event on Thursday, 15 June.
‘This auspicious event is in honour of the many lives that we have impacted over the course of 155 years and in celebration of a mission that is the third oldest children’s home in the Western Cape,’ says Leliebloem’s marketing manager, Carla Stewart. ‘The deficit on the monthly running costs has been our biggest hurdle that we face, and therefore this fund-raiser is vital to bridge the ever-growing shortfall which we continuously encounter.’
Tickets for the event include a four-course dinner and performances by Robin P, Don Vino Prins, Mujahid George, Berry and Sayde.
