Nontu Mgabhi, from KwaZulu-Natal, emerged as one of only two people among 17 contenders to conquer the gruelling 520km Track Namibia Desert race successfully.

In an awe-inspiring feat of endurance, Nontu Mgabhi from KwaZulu-Natal emerged as only one of two contestants from 17 contenders to complete the gruelling 520km Track Namibia Desert race successfully. The event takes place every two years in southern Namibia, between the Swakop River in the Erongo region and the Sossusvlei dunes in the Namib-Naukluft National Park.

Organised by Canal Aventure, the 520km foot race, which is run over nine stages and 10 days, is certainly not for the faint-hearted.
