of a vessel from Libya carrying migrants - in which hundreds of people are suspected to have died - has highlighted the crisis generated by conflict, poverty and climate change which leads to up to 100,000 migrants a year trying to reach Europe in unsafe boats.reports on the almost daily battle in which ships operated by humanitarian NGOs such as Médecins Sans Frontières seek to rescue migrants in international waters, often confronting the Libyan Coast Guard in order to do so.

In the film, Urbina explains how the European Union is trying to stem the flow of migrants by creating a shadow immigration system that captures them before they reach the high seas and sends them back to Libyan detention centers run by militia. In the contest between the NGOs and the coast guard, whoever wins determines the fate of the passengers., which is dedicated to reporting on the human rights violations and environmental crimes which are committed with impunity on the open seas.
