Four suspects shot dead, one nabbed in Soweto cash-in-transit heist

A gun battle ensued after more than eleven men attacked a cash-in-transit vehicle along Nasrec Road in Soweto on Friday.

“Suspects allegedly robbed the security guards of their cell phones and one firearm before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money,” says national police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda.A police officer sustained gunshot wounds during the shootout.
