Aphiwe Dyantyi, a former Springbok wing, emerged as a rising star in the rugby world with his impressive performances and try-scoring abilities.

Just a few short years ago, the Lions enjoyed an incredible ‘golden era’ as they reached three successive Super Rugby finals from 2016 to 2018. It was also during that time, that former Springbok wing Aphiwe Dyantyi was one of the players that burst onto the scene.

The powerful wing scored a superb try on debut, while it was his incredible two-try heroics against the All Blacks in Wellington later that season that suddenly made him a household name. It was such a sad fall from grace for a player who had just reached the top of the game after an incredible journey from a humble upbringing to Springbok stardom
