Former Kaizer Chiefs player calls for brutal attack on TS Galaxy

Kaizer Chiefs will kick off their 2022 with a tricky encounter against TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup and expectations are high from fans.

Amakhosi have not won a trophy in over five years, with TS Galaxy one of the teams that has contributed to the trophy drought at Naturena after shocking Amakhosi in the final of the 2019 edition of the Nedbank Cup. In the high-anticpated repeat fixture, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Rene Richards expects the Glamour Boys to be brutal in their quest for silverware.

"I think it is about time Kaizer Chiefs remind people who they are. They must go in hard in the Nedbank Cup, starting with TS Galaxy. I believe they have improved and are a well-balanced squad now," Richards told the Siya crew. With the Amakhosi faithful hungry for trophies, Richards strongly believes a cup title can do much for the club, and the morale.

"It is all about showing brutality against any team starting with Galaxy this weekend. They know how important it is to win this trophy and what it will do for the fans and the brand, we need to see the old Chiefs showing itself this year," he added.
