Former Sharks coach Sean Everitt believes that the Durban-based rugby team needs stability in terms of player recruitment and coaching staff to reach their full potential. The Sharks have experienced a challenging season in the URC, leaving many associated with the team struggling to watch their performances. However, under the guidance of John Plumtree, the team seems to have turned a corner and is now playing their best rugby of the season, with the aim of further improvement.
“For me, I think this team needs to settle from a recruitment point of view and coaching point of view,” said Everitt. “I read the other day that the Sharks have had over 40 coaches over the last ten years; you can’t build consistency regarding that.”Despite the challenges faced by the Sharks, Everitt recognised the team’s strengths, particularly in their set-piece play. He noted that winning teams often have strong set-pieces, and the Sharks have demonstrated their ability in this area.
