The South African Social Security Agency, Sassa, said it had received about five million applications for the government's special R350 Covid-19 grant for the unemployed. | Day56ofLockdown

The South African Social Security Agency has received about five million applications for the R350 special Covid-19 grant.

He said the department had used a batch of 75 000 applications during their trial run. In that batch, 39 000 applications which were verified through SARS were found to be people drawing salaries as at April. Sassa CEO Busisiwe Memela-Khambula told MPs that there had been delays to pay the grants due to verification of the applicants. She said they needed to ascertain if they were not receiving other social grants and UIF benefits.

Memela-Khambula said they planned to pay out 300 000 continuously every two days after verification of applications.

R350 ANC's middle finger to all

I want to meet with that person who suggested that people must get R350. How did they arrive at the conclusion that 350 is enough? It's madness.

They didn't tell you what happens next?

So can we talk about that 29% lies they are talking about of unemployment.......those researchers are lies....unemployment rate in South Africa is higher...

There are still 5 Million more to come. SASSA must STOP playing games with our PEOPLE. Just give all poor and unemployed citizens including all Social Security Grant categories a Universal lncome Grant of R7000.00 NOW!

Don't tell the people that this DNA altering vaccine is the first of it's kind and that it has never been tested on animals. Alas all we have are ppl with social media neck problems who want to get rick quick without putting in the work or time. Likes and follows replaced admiration and respect.
