'Fishing expedition': Judge slaps down request for 'top secret' IPID report in Kinnear murder trial

Nafiz Modack 's request to introduce the"Top Secret" Independent Police Investigative Directorate's report on Anti-Gang Unit detective Charl Kinnear's murder was slapped down in the Western Cape High Court on Monday.

Modack's defence advocate, Bash Sibda, submitted although he did not know what was in the report, he needed access to it to cross-examine former cop and illegal ping salesman Bradley Goldblatt properly. Goldblatt warned the State Security Agency and Crimes Against the State Unit of the Hawks that Kinnear's life might be in danger two weeks before he was killed.
