FIFA president Gianni Infantino has announced the official start for the inaugural African Football League, which will only feature eight teams. The tournament was initially called the CAF African Super League, but the world football governing body confirmed the name change at the General Assembly in Abidjan on Thursday.The first edition of the tournament will only feature eight teams from the African continent, rather than the 24 that was initially proposed by CAF>
"It will have eight great teams, which will be followed in the future with a bigger version," he told attendees, as per ESPN."It is our responsibility, duty and task, and with the work and contribution of all of us as a team, we will succeed." The names of the eight teams are yet to be disclosed despite the tournament getting underway a few months time.For 14 free days, you can have access to the best from Soccer Laduma, KickOff, Daily Sun, TrueLove and Drum. Thereafter you will be billed R29 per month. You can cancel anytime and if you cancel within 14 days you won't be billed.
