Field’s Hill ‘killer’ Sanele May has been deported

Durban - Sanele May, the truck driver who was at the wheel of a truck which killed 24 people and injured scores in the notorious 2013 Field’s Hill accident, is a free man. His supporters - members of the Sanele May Support Group on Facebook - made the information public on Wednesday.

A source said May was handed over to the Home Affairs deportation unit on the day of his release and the deportation process started. “Procedurally, an offender is delivered to a specific address when released and has to abide by the parole conditions at all times. I don’t know what the parole conditions are in this case or how those conditions will be enforced, given that May is a foreign national,” said the source.
