The court also refused Cekeshe's bail application, pending an application in the high court against both his conviction and sentence for public violence and malicious damage to property.
Last Wednesday, Cekeshe’s new legal team was in the Johannesburg magistrate’s court to apply for bail as he was awaiting the outcome of his petition. His team also applied for leave to appeal against his conviction, following the dismissal of his leave to appeal against sentence in February last year.
