The host city Kimberley has been warned to brace for extremely hot conditions with temperatures expected to reach well over 35 degrees Celsius on Friday.

Parsons, who plays for the Gauteng U/19 cricket team formerly known as Transvaal, says hot conditions are not new to them. Parsons is a learner at the prestigious King Edward VII School in Houghton, Johannesburg. The Benoni resident says he and his teammates are excited to compete on a world stage/.South African and Afghanistan both won in their final preparation games before the curtain-raiser on Friday.
