JOHANNESBURG - Former Transnet CFO and Gupta associate Anoj Singh's application for his bail conditions to be amended has been dismissed.
The former chartered accountant told the court that he wanted to take a job offer in Dubai because he could not find employment in South Africa due to his alleged links to state capture. Singh’s application for his bail conditions to be relaxed is based on an employment offer from a company in Dubai called Buy 4 Rich.
But in his ruling, Magistrate Emmanuel Magampa said Singh’s right to work must be balanced against other considerations, specifically that people accused of crimes should stand trial to have their guilt or innocence determined.
