Ex-Captain: Why I Decided To Leave Real Madrid

Real Madrid 's LALIGA and UEFA Champions League-winning captain from this past season has revealed why he decided to leave Los Blancos.Spanish centre-back Nacho Fernandez has officially parted ways with Real after a trophy-laden 12 years in the senior team, and signed for Saudi Arabian outfit Al Qadsiah.

Speaking on his decision to call time on his career in Spain, the 34-year-old admitted it is the most difficult call he has ever made. Managing Madrid"I told the club many months ago. I wanted a new experience. I need a new experience. Real Madrid is the best thing that happened in my life. It ended in the best possible way.

"Now, I need to live somewhere different with my family. I'm very happy. The league in Saudi Arabia was unknown years ago. Now, many good players are going there."
