Eskom explained the load-shedding breaks were made possible by the recovery of emergency generation reserves, the return of three generating units, and the anticipated weekday demand.
As communicated previously, Sunday’s break in load-shedding will continue until 16:00, after which stage 1 load-shedding will be implemented. This will last until 05:00 on Monday, 11 March 2024, when Eskom will again suspend load-shedding until 16:00.“The suspension of load-shedding from 05:00 until 16:00 and the implementation of stage 2 load-shedding from 16:00 until 05:00 the next day will be repeated daily from Monday until further notice,” Eskom said.Eskom also expects to return 3,330MW of generating capacity to service by Wednesday.
