Friends of the Earth argues $1.15bn in funding for LNG project is incompatible with the Paris Agreement

06 December 2022 - 21:07London — Environmental campaign group Friends of the Earth asked a London court on Tuesday to rule that the British government’s funding of up to $1.15bn for a liquefied natural gas project in Mozambique is incompatible with the Paris Agreement on climate change.

The environmental campaign group’s legal action over the decision failed in a lower court, but it is now challenging the ruling at a three-day hearing at the Court of Appeal. She said the project “will result in an aggregate increase in global emissions”, adding in court documents that the government failed to quantify the “indirect downstream greenhouse gas emissions” from the project.

He added the project had the “potential to lift millions of Mozambicans out of poverty”, and that UKEF “rightly considered that the Paris Agreement imposes no prohibition on developed countries assisting developing countries”.

Tebogo Lerole blasts ‘old friends’ making sexual advances towards his daughter'One of the things we fight for is how women should be free in how they dress. We cannot body shame nor objectify women.' No respect shown by his ‘friends’. Hawkers both female and male selling at taxi ranks encourage this kind of behaviour, you even hear them saying I wish boys can rape her, look at the way she's dressed. She's a prostitute. Those hawkers are very dangerous to the society. I will never encourage my daughter to dress what ever she wants... She needs to address appropriately or cover her body if she doesn't want to be objectified.
