With general elections taking place at the end of next month, the Freedom Front Plus is planning to emerge as kingmakers and form a coalition with the DA in the Western Cape. But the DA is not happy about it. In an interview with News24, Gert van Niekerk, the party's deputy leader in the Western Cape, said they were working hard to keep the Western Cape as the top province.
"We are already in control of 64% of coalitions in the Western Cape, and look at the province. We are head and shoulders above the rest. I am not talking about ANC coalitions, we do have our failures, but look at municipalities such as George, where we are in a coalition," he said.
