Rejected ballot papers, if any, are filed separately by the IEC officials and the remaining ballot papers for each election are sorted face up at the voting station according to the party in whose favour the vote was cast.Ballot papers for each political party are then bound in packages of ten by the IEC officials and the presiding officer. Thereafter ten packets of ten ballot papers are bound together with elastic bands at the voting station.
The ballot papers will remain sealed up until the counting of votes and the ballots will be moved for delivery by IEC officials if they are not to be counted at that particular voting station. The ballot papers for each party in each election will be counted by IEC counting officials in the presence of observers, the totals recorded and ingested into the IEC database.
