With a low take-up of just more than 35% of the population, Ramaphosa’s call for global vaccine equity is a hard message to sustain

Compared with the horrors that came when the Delta variant of Covid-19 was wreaking havoc in SA in mid-2021, the year is ending on a relatively quiet note. But complacency may hurt the country later.

Headlines in Europe show that the battle against Covid-19 is far from being won. hey you..... do not go there, cause the rising will not be contained...

Sno even though the vaccinated can acquire and transmit covid in exactly the same way, according to the CDC? Denying anything to the unvaxxed is ridiculous and does nothing for public health.

And to think it used to be a serious publication

U r obsessed with power, we have as much rights to make choices as much as u do, don't come here as if u created earth lona

They love totalitarianism......

Seems ur paper would sit well with apartheid yah go get stuffed

It won’t change a thing - the waves will continue

A vaccine that only works if you take yours must be suspect of mischief. You want to make it mandatory, create a No-fault Compensation Fund for those who suffer side effects as Australia has done. Failure to do that, stop talking crap then. Put the proposal to gov't or shut up.

Absolutely. Unless someone can provide medical evidence as to why they cannot take the vaccine, restrict access to the unvaccinated. We have to beat this.

The government and the editorial se poes

To get a social grant the beneficiary must be vaccinated. Why should the state maintain you if you won't make the effort stay healthy?

... the ANC is a walking disaster

Why can they not restrict accessing their filthy hands into the cookie jar? Not bold enough?

Businesses too. Otherwise privileged folks will be able to dodge based on how rarely they need to interact with government services directly.

The problem is that the vaccine is not moving anymore and so numbers are being fabricated to create an emergency. We'll the president said nobody will be forced to vaccinate.

Just introduce the covid pills as alternative and stop the scientific witchcraft

No, it must not. In consultation with the NICD & tested by a lab their lab, i am not able to take any vaccine due to my medical status. Now u wish to deny me my basic human rights. What are you afraid of? U are vac'd. How can i infect u? Unless the vaccine does not work.

Access to what?

Gibraltar and Cuba the two most vaccinated nations in the world⁉️ Exactly what is your point⁉️👀😱

With fourth wave set to hit SA, here's what to expect based on international trendsSeveral European have countries implement partial lockdowns and tougher restrictions on unvaccinated adults. Why does the article use the word vaccinated for the jabbed, and uses the word inoculation for the unvaxxed (pure blood) ? An orchestrated 4th wave, that is.

‘Eye-poking’ cult cause of Covid-19 outbreak in South KoreaMany of the congregation are older than 60 and unvaccinated — just 17 out of the 241 confirmed cases were vaccinated That's some silly write up. Are u guys so financially enslaved as not to say that S. Korea with more than 80% vaccinated is back to full infection due to the inefficay of the vaccines? Show proof of any1 who has isolated this virus to warrant a vaccine. Why blame a pastor? Sies We need 2 improve the efficacy of this vaccines by acknowledging their shortcomings to further research. Diversion won't help the world overcome this mess. The current vaccines are still on trials, not silver bullets to a virus that has never been isolated or cultured.

Tuesday Editorial: Eastern Cape drought: Water should never be a political issueDespite weather predictions of heavy falls, the sky is still holding onto the precious rain needed to avert a social, economic and health disaster in Nelson Mandela Bay. Declare Gqeberha a Disaster Area: As residents, we can't save the city. No amount of public action at this point will make the necessary impact and mitigate the severity of the disaster. Gqeberha, is sadly a case study, reflecting the critical state of our water resources in SA.
