NPA, Hawks need to be resourced urgently because Radzilani and Msiza’s reinstatements are troubling for SA

Who will believe President Cyril Ramaphosa the next time he tells us he intends to run a corrupt-free government? On Wednesday, his party proved to the world that those who tolerate corruption are in the majority in its ranks. The decision of the party’s national executive committee to reinstate ANC Limpopo deputy chairperson Florence Radzilani and provincial treasurer Danny Msiza makes a mockery of Ramaphosa’s pledge.

The party’s secretary-general, Ace Magashule, himself a man with a stench of corruption allegations following him around, told journalists the ANC decided to reinstate the pair because law-enforcement agencies had not charged them. “This decision is the decision of the NEC as a collective, which is the highest decision-making body in between conferences. It is no disrespect ... it is how we deal with the issues of justice and I think it is the right thing to do.

Really? Even when there is so much evidence in the public domain?
