DStv Premiership match report Stellenbosch v Royal AM 13 August 2022

Royal AM make the trip to Stellenbosch FC at the Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday, keen to continue their winning run.

Back-to-back wins from their opening two matches against Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United have seen Royal AM move to the summit of the league standings. Stellies are yet to record a win from their first two encounters which had them hold Marumo Gallants FC and then Orlando Pirates in midweek to draws. Unlike the high-flying Royal AM, the Maroons find themselves tenth on the table and their last win happened at the end of last season against Cape Town City in a provincial derby.

The match-up between Thwihli Thwahla and the Maroons will be third ever in the top flight era, as the corresponding encounter last season finished 2-2.

I like it.. Interesting season this one.
