Thembi Mahlalela, a resident of Mbuzini village, said if a person drink more than a litter of sugarcane beer, they might die.

Shongwe told Sowetan that their concern is that farmers are getting robbed by thieves who go all the way to harvest sugarcane “just for beer”.

Acting CEO of the Mpumalanga Farmers Association Selby Mbamba told Sowetan that they had to hire security guards to look after their sugarcane. “I’m one of the victims myself, I decided to have guards at night to keep my sugarcane safe. Yesterday we caught a young man who had a wheelbarrow stealing from my field at Mangweni village. Other farmers from Driekoppies, Masibekela, Hhoyi, Steenbok and other villages are complaining too, it’s out of order.

Ex-editors of SA Medical Journal slam alcohol ban, as industry says it was always irrationalGovernment's claims that the prohibition on the formal sale of alcohol during the Covid-19 lockdown has reduced deaths and hospital emergencies are flawed, according to the editors emeritus of the SA Medical Journal, Prof Dan Ncayiyana and Prof JP Van Niekerk. They must *ck off, cuz at the time rationality was needed they kept quiet in the interest of Ramaphoria. “The sale of alcohol for home consumption through outlets that observe social distancing or home deliveries should have no effect in spreading infections. There is therefore no rational argument for it to be banned,” said Mngadi. Ankere education creates backbone 😂🤣🤣
