On Tuesday, Herschel “Guy” Beahm, better known as Dr Disrespect, admitted that allegations he had sent inappropriate messages to a minor were true.
The streamer made the admission on Tuesday after a former Twitch staffer disclosed the reason for Beahm’s ban at the weekend. Yeah look, Herschel, can we call you Herschel? If you didn’t want to attract those labels, you probably shouldn’t have messaged a minor while your wife and child sat waiting for your streams to end.
The question many, ourselves included, now have is why Twitch hasn’t said anything about this matter at all. We understand non-disclosure agreements and gag-orders exist but when it comes to predatory behaviour, there is a responsibility to inform and protect people. Since 2020, Beahm has continued to stream on YouTube and we suspect that if Twitch had been more forthcoming about the ban, that wouldn’t have happened.
